Test Anxiety 1 Running head: TEST ANXIETY A Confirmatory Factor Analysis Approach to Test Anxiety

چکیده
This paper addresses the role of test anxiety in aptitude testing. Our approach is rooted in confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). We find that the usual parameter constraints used for model identification in CFA have non-trivial implications for the effects of interest. We suggest two methods for dealing with this identification problem. Firstly, we consider testable parameter constraints that identify the proposed model. Secondly, we consider structural relations that do not depend on model identification. In particular we derive the partial factor correlation between a test and an external variable, conditional on test anxiety, and show that this correlation (a) is not affected by the choice of model identification constraints and (b) can be estimated using true score theory.

Running head: Delay of Gratification and Test Anxiety Emotion Regulation and Test Anxiety: The Contribution of Academic Delay
The ability to delay gratification among learners could serve as an effective learning strategy useful to diminish the detrimental effect of test anxiety. Academic delay of gratification refers to students' postponement of immediately available opportunities to satisfy impulses in favor of pursuing chosen important academic rewards or goals that are temporally remote but ostensibly more valuabl...

Introduction: What influences the student's academic achievement and success, or the extent of the contribution and participation of each factor, has always been an area of interest to scholars and educational psychologists. This study investigated Achievement Motivation as a mediator of the relationship between Test Anxiety and Academic Procrastination with Academic Achievement between Test An...
متن کاملThe Modified Abbreviated Math Anxiety Scale: A Valid and Reliable Instrument for Use with Children
Mathematics anxiety (MA) can be observed in children from primary school age into the teenage years and adulthood, but many MA rating scales are only suitable for use with adults or older adolescents. We have adapted one such rating scale, the Abbreviated Math Anxiety Scale (AMAS), to be used with British children aged 8-13. In this study, we assess the scale's reliability, factor structure, an...
متن کاملPrediction of the Correlation between Test Anxiety and Psychological Well-Being Considering the Mediating Role of Religious Orientation in University Students
Background and Objectives: Test anxiety is one of the most common types of anxieties in the learning environment that can be correlated with the psychological well-being of university students. However, the religious orientation of the individuals may have effects on this relationship. Therefore, this study aimed to predict the correlation between test anxiety and psychological well-being, emph...
متن کاملPsychometric properties of the Social Phobia and Anxiety Inventory for Children using a non-American population-based sample.
Although previous studies have examined the factor structure of the SPAI-C, adequate factor analytic methodology has not been employed. This study explored the psychometric properties of the Social Phobia and Anxiety Inventory for Children (SPAI-C), using a non-American population-based sample of older children and young adolescents 11-14 years of age. Initially an exploratory factor analysis w...
